This thought truly inspires me cause it reflects so much about the way I perceive life or rather travel. Personally, I am not a very travel person but nevertheless yes visiting a new place has always excited me where there would be no bounds…..just pure relaxation.

When I talk about relaxation and excitement about travel it takes me down the memory lane as a child ….picnics were something that we looked forward to as students……a few lines that come to my mind …..

Picnics were always a fairy tale dream

A chequered blanket spread for the entire team

Sandwiches, cakes and delicious fruits…

The basket had it all,

A ball, a book and a flute.

Picnics are a way to explore

I have always looked for more.

These lines reflect the idea of outing, which includes exploring activities, fun time, positive relationships and much more.

 Education tourism is becoming an integral part of the school curriculum as it is a base for so many skills that students learn on the field.

It also gives the students a sense of belonging and lifetime memories and satisfaction. Tourism is an applied subject field real-world exposure combines knowledge with practical exercises. Practical learning bridge the gap between academics and industry within which students learn how to act proficiently.

A day out of the school or short trips out of the classrooms both offers multiple opportunities for community connected experimental learning related to the various subjects and disciplines. Museums, gardens, heritage sites, factory visits all of these provide rich learning environments for field trips and for the exploration of the community and its resources. Elementary school children start correlating the textbook text to the real world scenario.


For middle school children, the field trips could be a way to introduce languages, cultures, science and technology, history and life-skills and other industry insights in by working together with the orgnaisations to introduce career avenues and more.

To introduce non-conventional career avenue and with the objective of introducing cinema as a medium of learning, our school conducted ‘Children’s Film Bonanza’ in association with Children’s Film Society, India (CFSI). Films are perceived to be a source of the entertainment but it offers a gamut of other learning resources as veritable tools of learning, communities, geographies, and the role which emotions play in binding the world together. The experiences and learning were both beyond the realm of classroom teaching.

Education tourism demand is vast and growing every year. It can become a major mode of education by improving the level of education with pragmatic learning. Tourism also creates new economic opportunities for the knowledge acquired to create social value. In addition to all this education tourism will provide a new medium of learning for all people without age difference and a long lasting learning platform. Edu tourism is emerging as an important sector for the growth and development of a developing country like India.

Nowadays, tourism is the flourishing industry. The advantages of tourism include employment opportunities, the growth of the service sector, foreign exchange earnings, opportunity for recreation, economic growth, cultural exchange, better international relations, enjoyment, better health and wellness.
