I was glad about participating in the student leadership summit in my school. There were so any events lined up for us.Here is are the exact details and my learning about.

A) Workshops

I was one amongst the student teachers to conduct workshops. I thought my buddies the INDIAN MARTIAL ARTS - Silambam. We were empowered during that 1 hour. We made our best to use this opportunity fruitfully.

My learning were:1) All of them had got huge amount of potential to acquire the skill within a short period of time.

2) Tweaking my plan according to situation and responding to unexpected circumstances.

3) Being patient with the children ,even though they were distracted and drifted away with something else.

4) Age is just a number. Anyone one can think innovative and be creative in their own way.

B) MUN

Here is something professional. We had conducted Model United Nation.

I was one of the executive board in one of the commitee and its agenda was- 'Access to quality education' in India. I was very grateful for the opportunity given to me as an EB member, believing that the committee would be successful and the solutions for the agenda will be found.

My learnings were: 1) Bias- not to under estimate or over estimate anyone.

2) Every one are right in their own perspectives. Things can be viewed in multiple ways.

3) Interacting with different people helped understanding the way they think and reciprocate accordingly.

4) Listening quality-  Listening to the delegate even though few were irrelevant at times.

5) Comparative thinking and decision making skills-  Listening patiently to all the delegates and making the right choice whether the statement is correct and verify it with proper and relevant data.

6)  Time management - Planning the session carefully so that the agenda is discussed completely and the solutions are derived.

C) LEARNING CIRCLE

This is something intersting. This learning circle is the space were we share our perspectives upon one topic and believe that this is safe space to judgemental.

TheTopic was: GENDER INEQUALITY

Objective : Understand why gender inequality happens, causes of it and solutions to bridge the gap between both the genders.

Causes which we discussed were: Education level, religion, tradition and culture, people's mentality and lack of empowerment.

 My learnings were:

1) The choice we make should be wise.

2) Do not believe things because others say so. Start looking at things in a unbiased and a positive way which sounds fair to you.

3) Understand people's thought by talking to them deeply about the issue and let them to voice out their thoughts.

Overall takeaways :

1) Defining- 'EVERYDAY LEADERSHIP'

2)"Everybody has immense potential; everybody can and will change for the better." I strongly feel this is true and I believe it .

3) A good leader should also have the ability to reflect and articulate his/her thoughts.

4) The power of empowerment and what kind of results it leads to.

5) How Passionate those people are towards what they are doing.

6) All of us are leaders

This summit made me realise the potential in me.It made e understand different perspectives and boosted up my self confidence. I thank my school for this oppurtunity. :))
