Back to Schools Solutions

NexSchools did a survey of first day at school with parents and found some things that worried most parents. Here is some bang on solutions to the most common five problems that made it to the list of stress free back to school.

Parents! It’s again that time of the year, which repeats every year for some of you, and first time for others, yes it’s beginning of new school year or back to school.

New academic year arrives with it’s own excitement and triumph to set in motion a new milestone of your child.

Switching from summer to school schedule could be stressful to all the members of the family. The anxiety is a part of it all and we all experience it. A little bit planning can save you tons of worry and hassle at the last minute.

As the school reopening day comes closer, we all become anxious about some common stuff. NexSchools did a survey of first day at school with parents and found some things that worried most parents; we are sharing the list below and simple solution to these common problems:

  1. How to get kids out of bed in the morning

You have to work on this couple of nights before the school starts to have stress free mornings.

Start following the ‘early to bed and early to rise rule’, so that kids become accustomed to getting up early on the first day without complains. This is solution works very well throughout the year.

Preparation a night before like, clothes laid out, bag packed, breakfast choice made etc. These tasks could be completed before watching TV or doing screen time before going to bed.

This solution could avoid lots of last minute decisions making early morning stress free and starting the day positively.

  1. Transport jitteriness on the first day

If you are taking school transport, make sure to take all the details from the school on school orientation day or books collection day. The school will provide you route details, bus number, driver’s name and phone number, arrival time and exact pick-up point. If the bus is late for first couple days do not land into argument with the bus staff, report it to the school transport authorities and try to find out the reason. Usually delay in bus pick and drop off time happens in most schools, as the new transport staffs such as drivers and bus attendant are not aware of the children’s exact drop off and pick points etc. to ascertain all this it may take few days. Moreover, drivers and bus attendant just follow the management instructions therefore, it is  always best to be patient and talk to school authorities. directly incase of genuine problems.

  1. What to give for lunch and snack boxes?

Lunch and snack boxes if taken from home must contain food of kid’s choice and interest as per age of the child. Do not ask kids in the morning what they will prefer to take for lunch instead decide the menu earlier and prepare accordingly. Prior deciding the menu saves a lot of hassle and frustration of what to give and take both ways for you and your kids.

My Menu Lunch & SnacksActivity to End the Tiffin Tussle

NexSchools tried out practical activity to come to truce between Moms and kids tiffin tussle, it worked very well so we sharing it with you here.

Give your kids to choose and decide themselves what they would like everyday for lunch and snacks. Make a column from Monday-Friday/Saturday then let them make a menu of their own. If they are siblings then let them decide mutually but make a rule one-food item that both of them like will be packed in the lunch or snack. So they are given choice to decide put it themselves in the menu with each other’s consent in case of siblings.

Simple rule must be conveyed because you prepared your own menu so no leftovers in the Tiffin. Let them complete the activity, do not worry about balanced diet and nutrition now. Once you have their raw menu then you can guide them about healthy food and alternatives it will bring solution to lots of problems related to lunch boxes.

Kids are the most happy when they are given choices themselves.

  1. Settling  down in the new class

Children adjust to new environment and teachers help bring in positive attitude in the class. Parents can work too at home by talking to them about new class or if moving to new school then about new school and what to expect. Telling stories about your own school experiences will boost them up and children will think it’s not happening to them alone, whole world faces the same.

  1. School bag pack and stuff inside it

Needless to say, there are a lot of offers and shopping website giving good deals on back to school stuff. Just plan what to buy instead of running last day. After all, they just need stationary, books and backpack that is easy to carry for them.
