A school is actually a home away from home for students as well as teachers. During a student life most of the waking hours are spent at school, learning anything and everything in various dimensions. There is no denying how significant a school is in shaping up a student’s personality and holistic learning process.Wisdom High International School gives an outstanding experience to the students with various facilities. The school has a reputation of being one of the most beautiful schools inside and out, it continues to live up it even more. A vast expanse of land provides a perfect ambience for an aesthetically chartered school building. The lung space, the open lawns are marked with a colourful bonanza of fresh floral bounty. An awe inspiring infrastructure comprises of 50 well ventilated classrooms, science laboratories and libraries where books span time, space, culture and genres and all the other resources needed for the learners and teachers. In the 21st century, the pure academic type of education that students are introduced to, I steadily paving a way to a whole new type of education with a special focus to incorporate three major types of genres:- reasoning, psychomotor and emotional learning. Education is pretty broad concept that surpasses the four walls of classroom. The core aim of education is to foster all round development essentially means intellectual, physical, moral, sensible and social development. To fulfill these prime objectives, there is a prime need of striking a balance between syllabus, curriculum, books and also co-curricular activities beyond that.

As the school’s mission is "TO CREATE A PURPOSE FOR LEARNING AND ALLOW CHILDREN TO BE THINKERS, INNOVATERS AND PROBLEM-SOLVERS" , my school provides an equal platform for the academics, co-curricular, sports and activities which comes with lot of food for thought. The school plans and implements activity themes for every month which are to be conducted in the activity period (2 periods allotted each week) One purpose of student activities is to provide opportunities for students to be involved in the life of the school. Students experience leadership opportunities that help them grow into well-rounded adults. Activities expand interactions among students, who are likely to interact with others who are different from them. Thus, opportunities to experience diversity are enhanced. The students are divided in groups and are given 4 weeks of time to prepare and present their work. Mentor teacher is allotted to brief out the theme and guide the learners throughout the month. The layout of each theme goes as follows:-

Week 1 Introduction

Week 2 Research

Week 3 Preparation

Week 4 Presentation

Students involve themselves in various activities likes DESIGN FOR CHANGE, WORLD TIME LINE, COMMERCE AND BANKING, MUN, MULTICULCTURAL DAY, LEARNINGPROGRAMMES (ROBOTICS, TELESCOPE MAKING, EGG DROP CHALLENGE, ETC) AND MANY MORE. All these activities prosper the kids with:-

• Proper Education – Since, co-curricular activities are merged with academics therefore, it ensures that students get to learn effectively. Science or Computer Lab practical, experiments and projects are part of co-curricular activities.

• Cultural Values - Students get to learn by cultural events including national events and traditional events from different faiths including Gandhi Jayanti, Indepedence Day, Republic Day, as well as Diwali, Eid, Baisaki, Onam, Raksha Bandhan, and many other cultural events. Students get to learn about these events through books as well as co-curricular activities based on different cultures organised by Schools.

• Personality Development – Students perform co-curricular activities in schools, which help themsharpen their communication skills, expression skills, public speaking, participation and sense of belongingness through different activities like debates, recitation. Art and craft, creative art competitions, classroom activities like reading, group discussions etc.

• Physical and Mental Health – Co-curricular activities require students to stay active at schoolby participation since, students have no option to skip these activities as it’s a part of their curriculum. Students have to be a part of co-curricular activities like athletics, gymnastics, yoga, indoor games, and meditation etc. These activities are beneficial for students’ physical fitness as well as mental health and they are relieved from academic stress.

• Learning Experience – Co-curricular activities are good for improving students learning experience at school which improves their attendance at school and increases participation rate by students in co-curricular activities. Of course, students get a really good excuse for a break from academics.

• Team Leadership Skills – Co-curricular activities at school are designed in groups so that students can participate along with their classmates. This helps students develop leadership skills, team integrityand coordination skills.

• Moral Values – The students through co-curricular activities learn essential ethical values about different cultures, religions, events of national and international importance as well as discipline and school life ethics. They learn to understand different religions, values, social ethics, patience, empathy, motivational skills, compatibility and contentment.

A Chinese proverb very aptly states, “Teach me, and I will forget. Show me, and I might remember. Involve me, and I will never forget.” To a very great extent, the theoretical knowledge is enhanced when a co-curricular activity related to the content taught, is organized. Intellectual development of the personality is achieved to a great extent,
