Leading a Principled Life

Lord Krishna says in Bhagavad Gita shlok 3.21 " Whatever action a great man performs, common men follow. And whatever standards he sets by exemplary acts, all the world pursues."

The world today is in need of leaders who have self control, who value the morals in our scriptures.
In today's modern world the importance is given to the external material things like wealth, beauty. But very little importance is given to the character of any person. The values from the scriptures and principles of morality are getting neglected.
We need to show respect to those who are following higher principles in life rather than mistreating them and saying that it is old fashioned. As the saying goes 'old is gold' we should try to learn the great wisdom that is taught by exemplary characters like Ram, Lakshman, Bharat and try to imbibe these moral values in the next generation. When the bamboo is soft it is easy to bend it but when it grows up it breaks. In the same way we must train our children in their young age so they become responsible for their actions and are able to discriminate right from wrong. It will also create sense of satisfaction in their life which will help them from breaking the regulative principles like gambling, smoking, stealing etc.
As it is rightly said by Abraham Lincoln.....

"Teach him if you can that 10 cents earned is of far more value than a dollar found.Try to give my son the strength not to follow the crowd when everyone else is doing it. Teach him to listen to every one, but teach him also to filters all that he hears on a screen of truth and take only the good that comes through."
