The CM International School hosted blog contest on the relevance of cinema in education.

Movies are always much more than just entertainment. They motivate people, make them to think and above all spread meaningful messages. India has produced several inspirational movies in the past which are an eye-opener.

Dangal had a lot of message for the society throughout the movie. The story is based on Mahavir Singh Phogat and his daughters. They are based out of Haryana, a State which has a very low sex ratio. But Mahavir Singh fought against all odds & society for what he believed was right. Even after hearing a lot of taunts from the society he taught wrestling to his daughters ( Geeta and  Babita Phogat) after realizing their talent.

“Gold to Gold Howe Hai – Chora laaye ya Chori”

This line said by Mahavir Singh Phogat (Aamir Khan) is really boastful for society. One should not watch movie just for entertainment but they should also try to grasp the message given by the movie, otherwise it is a waste of time.

The scene which I liked the most was the climax, where Geeta Phogat was completely helpless. At that time she remembers the teaching of her father “Not always people will be around to help you, you should win your own battle” and the next moment she made a breathtaking move and pined her opposition, thus winning the competition.
