As summers have started parents and children can bond together by doing some fun things together. This will engage children in creative activities too. Here are a few activities which children love and parents too.

These activities are simple to Do It Yourself or DIY with all the things available at home.

VEGETABLE PAINTING

Vegetables which we eat can be used as a mould or a block for painting, oh! yes it is amazing, but nobody can beat the nature, nature is very beautiful and wonderful.

Oinion
Make a lotus flower with onion and stem with bean
Cut an onion vertically into half, cut bean into vertically half, now put the onion in
pink water colour on the tray, bean into green colour this pattern will come.

Ladyfinger
Make flowers with ladyfinger.  Cut ladyfingers top of cone shape then hold it vertically and dip in red colour and place this

Capsicum
Make flowers with capsicum.  Cut it horizontally and dip it in orange colour, take peas and separate halves of it put them in green colour and make leaves of this flower with the pea shells.

Potato Painting

Take a potato cut it vertically, now carve any design on it with a butter knife.  It will be like a stamp for us white painting carves a star on it.  Put this part of potato in water colour and now press it on the sheet of paper you will get the star on whatever figure we have carved on the potato.

Brinjal
Brinjal and onion flowers, cut these vegetables horizontally.  Now put onion in red colour, pick it and press it on the sheet.  Now put brinjal in yellow colour and press it on the sheet.
For leaf use leaf dip it in green colour and press it.

Caterpillar with Dondakai
Cut
dondakai horizontally.  Now, put it in green colour and press it on the paper, do it 6 or seven times to make a caterpillar.
Dondakai can also be used to make custard apple method.  Take a bangle and draw a circle with it.  Cut
the
dondakai horizontally, now dip it in green colour and put little yellow colour on the center of dondakai with thumb finally press it inside the circle.
Similarly, grapes and pineapple can be used.

We encourage natural resources to be used as it
is environment friendly, no plastic moulds or blocks are required.  A child will realize the sensible use of vegetables, from waste left over the salad plate.  While using different vegetable child experiences their touch, texture, skin, colour and how they look after being cut horizontally.

Painting
Children of every age love painting.  For painting one need not be an artist, little imagination and curiosity of trying different techniques gives us the art piece.  There are various techniques of painting which our children can easily do.

Leaf Painting
(1) Take any leaf
(2) Turn the leaf, on its backside apply poster colour and now put the leaf on the paper, when you will remove the leaf you will see it has left an impression of the leaf.
(3) Different types, different shaped leaves can be tried
for collage work by all children
(4) If your worksheet has pictures of tree or plant you can fill up the plant with this leaf painting
Put a stick in brown colour and now stick this stick with glue on the bark or you can colour the ice cream stick brown and paste you the stem of trees.

Hope you will enjoy these fun activity with your child. Stay tuned for more ideas and insights. Do leave a comment to let me know the great stuff you create with your children during summer break.
