This world is full of many adventurous and beautiful living and non-living things all around us. God has created space for each and every existing living being since the earth is formed. There are thousands of animal species out of which some are existing and some are extinct. One of the most popular examples of species extinct is “Dinosaurs” and their history is very interesting to know about.

Wildlife and natural environment is very essential to preserve which are directly or indirectly crucial for human survival as well. I love animals and being in natural surroundings. I do like to visit zoos but wonder why animals are caged and trapped. Well, the reason is obvious that is safety but I feel just as human beings have freedom so does animals would have or treated the same way.

Some of the animal species have been extinct but there are many of them which are on the verge of getting extinct or endangered.

In common language, endangered species means the decline in the rate of animal species because of various reasons and the fear that they will be extinct in coming years or decade.

The Endangered Species Day celebrated on 18th May which explains us the importance of every single life on this earth. Our government should take every possible step to preserve the endangered species. It is celebrated on third Friday in the month of May every year.

Following are some of the many endangered species.

1. Black Rhino: Black rhinos have declined tremendously but there have been continuous efforts to conserve them in various countries.
    
2. Mountain Gorilla: This specie has fallen prey to hunting, disease, destruction and it is extinct nowadays.
    
3. Tigers: In India itself, the rate of tigers has reduced to very few.
    
4. Giant Panda: They are my favorite and the fact that they are reducing in number makes me very sad.
    
5. Leopards and Komodo Dragon: They are remaining less in number at an alarming rate.

Animals are going endangered and extinct because they don’t have a proper habitat to survive. Human beings are cutting forests and using the land to build high buildings and malls around. I feel there should be proper places to keep animals so that they are protected and given proper care. But their place should be far from city otherwise they can get affected with the increasing pollution around. Animals are an important part of the planet earth. We should care for them and love them.
