Indian Youth - The Voice Of Protest

“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere”

Youth is the most valuable assent to a country and in a country like ours it is one of the factors which the country is proud of. But in light to the recent protests being held in our country we also see that the youth also has an opinion unlike earlier where the youth was silent.

Today’s youth is loud and clear and wants social and economic development and wants to break stereotypes and end discrimination. The factor which the youth must consider further movement on is non-violence. Violence in several collages and universities such as JNU,AMU, etc. was involved for the protests against as CAA,NRC, fees hike, violence, etc.

Protests regarding CAA and NRC are two main laws the youth is mainly protesting against and why shouldn’t they, everyone has the freedom to speech and I believe that to oppose such unconstitutional laws as it important for one to raise voice against wrong doing to a community (Muslims) by rejecting them from citizenship on the basis of religion. India is a secular country and the preamble of our constitution guarantees that the law is equal for all religions. Hypocrisy in our nation is such that where political leaders believe in a uniform civil code but make laws that discriminate on religion. Many leaders such as B.R Ambedkar and Mahatma Gandhi have worked very hard to frame a just and secular constitution and making such unsecular laws is a threat to the spirit of India at large.

The NPR (National Population Register) can wait for now as it would use up almost 2/3 budget of our annual budget and using these funds for surveys and confining citizenship is definitely a barrier for economic development. I believe that the youth is doing their duty bravely by using non-violence a method of protests to protect the secularism of our nation. The youth of all casts, religion, color are unitedly fighting against these laws which represents ‘unity in diversity’. Although due to political gains, the opposition has also joined hands with the youth to protest. Making such laws will only turn Muslims into second class citizens as Indian constitution is secular and so is India and the youth can prevent it from becoming a Hindu-Rashtra of a Hindu friendly constitution. India was is and will always be a secular nation if we are aware and brave to raise our voice for the right, be brave and achieve justice in all forums of life and for everyone. As justice is missing in animals and what makes us human. Justice is humanity, justice is unity.

It is only the unity which safeguards our diversity as united we stand, divided we fall, even you can contribute, no contribution is small. Let’s all unite and stand up against these unconstitutional laws which discriminate as it is in our hand, the spirit of secular and peaceful India. Thank you, Jai Hind Jai Bharat
